Recovery was never meant to be solitary — “confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed” (James 5:16) is the oldest group-recovery protocol on record. Support and accountability groups are a key to recovery. Below is a list of trusted groups for our Washington and Pacific-Northwest community. In Arizona? See our Glendale & Phoenix recovery groups.
We recommend trying at least three different groups, for at least three meetings each — it helps you find the style and format that fits. And we encourage everyone in their first 90 days to do 90 meetings in 90 days. If you’re recovering from sex addiction, your primary group should focus on sex addiction, but recovery principles apply across addictions — attend any available meeting during your 90 in 90. Your primary group is the one where your sponsor or main accountability partner also attends.

For spouses, partners & loved ones
Many of the groups above have a component for spouses, partners, or loved ones. For substance addictions or gambling, a home group is fairly easy to find. For partners or loved ones of sex addicts, it’s harder — this area is the farthest behind in faith, clinical, and recovery communities, and some partner groups drift toward either toxic venting or enabling. Neither is healthy. Be prepared to attend three to four meetings each at two or three different groups before you find a good fit.
